We have received information of possible threats that have been made to schools in our area. Eastern schools have been mentioned in the threats. In the time we have had this morning, we believe that the reference to Eastern schools was for a school district in Louisville, KY. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are going to continue to investigate to be sure of what we have found. Therefore, the Eastern Local School District will be closed today, Wednesday, September 11th, so that we can continue our investigation in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies to verify that there is no threat to our district. While we understand that closing school causes an inconvenience for many, the safety of our students and staff will always be our top priority. Thank you for your understanding in this situation.
