This Thursday, November 7, Eastern Local School District will dismiss two hours early for parent-teacher conferences. Conferences will last from 2 to 8 p.m. Parents and guardians can schedule phone or in-person conferences by calling their child's building office. Additionally, there will be no school on Tuesday, November 5, for election day and teacher in-service. Thank you.

Thank you to our recent speakers in the Careers and Transitions course! Ohio State Trooper and Eastern graduate, Owen Strong, spoke to the class this week about the patrol academy and career opportunities. Last week, business owner, Gary Salisbury, spoke to students on preparing themselves to be marketable candidates entering the workforce. #OnwardEagles

Last week, several EHS juniors and seniors traveled to Princeton High School in Cincinnati for the OHSAA Student Leadership Conference. The students heard from multiple motivational speakers, including multiple former professional and collegiate athletes. #OnwardEagles

Eastern Elementary will be hosting Trunk or Treat on Monday, October 28, 2024. If You are wanting to set up for the event and pass out candy, this will begin at 4pm in the front bus lot. Students will begin at 5pm going through the line. We ask that families follow the schedule below for the evening to help keep a smooth flow of students going through the line. Students who start on the high school side will go down the line closest to the school building, the ones on the elementary side will be closer to Tile Mill Road. Eastern Local Schools will be hosting a Veterans Day Breakfast on Thursday, November 7, 2024. All area Veterans are invited as the students and staff of Eastern Local Schools will thank them for their service to our Country.

Mr. Brewster's Careers and Transitions students recently visited Kenworth in Chillicothe to explore various career opportunities. Some of these students will also be working to attain their CDL later this year. #OnwardEagles

7th grade students from Eastern Middle School recently took multiple STEM-related trips to Shawnee State University and the Columbus Zoo! Students were introduced to multiple STEM programs at SSU and completed various activities at the zoo. #OnwardEagles

EHS seniors, Tucker Leist, Dalton Southworth, Declan Davis, Riley McCoy, Gracie Fox, and Lydia Park, traveled to Ohio University Dublin last week to participate in the OASSA Connect and Lead student leadership conference! The students worked and collaborated with other students from across the state to learn about leadership qualities and to develop collaboration, communication and problem solving skills. #OnwardEagles

Don't forget! Tonight is youth night at the varsity football game. All youth football players and cheerleaders should wear their uniforms and meet at the track next to the tunnel 10 minutes prior to kickoff. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. Also, the Beaver Lions Club will be holding a fish fry tonight! Fish sandwiches will be $5. The Lions Club raises funds to support students in the Eastern Local School District! #OnwardEagles

I would like to thank Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department for coming out and spending some time with our preschool and kindergarten students today. The fire department discussed fire safety, stop drop and roll, home evacuation plans , and importance of smoke detectors in your home. Most importantly, The fire fighters showed the students what a fire fighter looks like fully dressed in their gear in the event of a house fire. Students received a fire safety coloring book and plastic helmet!
